Orange Tribes, a 12-person software engineering company in the Netherlands, faced the challenge of developing a sophisticated food app, ReciPeeks, with an extremely small, part-time team and a dramatically accelerated timeline that would be unfeasible for most agile developers.

Using the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, including services like Azure SQL Database and Azure Mobile Services, the company built the app by reusing a modular back-end infrastructure it had previously developed. This Microsoft solution enabled Orange Tribes to slash development time and costs, successfully launch the Food Festival app to 40,000 users, and confidently predict 200,000 downloads for ReciPeeks by the end of 2016, all while gaining a significant competitive advantage.
