The New York Department of Education faced the challenge of helping struggling middle school readers improve literacy proficiency in a short 20-day summer program, as students risked not being promoted to the next grade. By utilizing tools like OneNote's Immersive Reader and Sway for presentations, Microsoft's solution allowed students to engage with material in a more intuitive and confidence-building way. As a measurable result of this implementation, every single student in the program passed the English Language Arts course and was successfully promoted to the 7th grade.
