Nuvem Tecnologia makes big data possible for rural farmers everywhere

Nuvem Tecnologia helps farmers across Brazil modernize complex agricultural operations with its AgroSIG solution, but it needed a way to centralize farm data, replace inaccurate paper reporting, and give rural workers an app they could use easily in the field. Using Microsoft Corporation’s Azure and Visual Studio Tools for Xamarin, Nuvem built tablet-based apps that connect to farm ERP systems and support real-time decision-making.

Microsoft Corporation’s solution enabled Nuvem to reuse C# code, add mobile features like offline sync, geofencing, Bluetooth, GPS, and photo capture, and design a simple interface for harsh outdoor conditions. As a result, the company can monitor more than 1,700 square kilometers of farmland at once, make data instantly available to farm owners, and quickly resolve production issues through post-release analytics and reporting.
