Next-generation intelligent infrastructure keeps cities and citizens connected

CityBeacon, a Netherlands-based small manufacturer, set out to solve the growing clutter, connectivity, and management challenges created by the rising number of IoT devices in cities. To do that, CityBeacon worked with Microsoft Corporation and used Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Azure IoT Hub, and Azure ExpressRoute to build SmartHubs for streets and venues.

Microsoft Corporation helped CityBeacon deliver a modular, cloud-connected smart infrastructure that supports 5G, security, and citizen services while keeping devices centrally managed. The solution enabled secure private connectivity, rapid scaling, and long-term support for 10- to 15-year deployments, helping cities stay future-ready and reducing urban device clutter.
