National Bank of Egypt reinvigorates its middleware stack with Microsoft BizTalk

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE), one of the country's largest financial institutions, faced significant operational complexity due to its heterogeneous IT infrastructure. This legacy environment, which processed over 3.5 million daily transactions, resulted in inefficient integration between core systems, costly IT maintenance, and a slow time-to-market for new financial services. To address this, NBE evaluated middleware solutions from IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft.

Microsoft, with its BizTalk Server 2013 platform, provided the winning Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solution, implemented with partner BlueCloud Corp. The new architecture integrated 13 major back-end systems, automating processes and enabling atomic transactions. This resulted in greater operational efficiency, including the ability to deploy new back-office solutions in under a month. Microsoft's solution helped NBE achieve a faster time-to-market for services and secure a stable, future-proof IT architecture.
