A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Capstone Mining, a Canadian copper producer with remote operations across North and South America, needed a more efficient, reliable, and affordable way to share information and keep critical systems available. The company’s challenge was to reduce the cost and complexity of on-premises datacenters while improving access to data and applications for employees and decision makers.
Microsoft Corporation helped Capstone Mining move to the cloud with Office 365 and the Azure platform, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure virtual machines for workloads and disaster recovery. The migration created a hybrid cloud environment, improved resilience and security, and eliminated two datacenters; Capstone is on track to save US$6 million over three years while giving employees more time for higher-value work.
