A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
The Angolan Ministry of Justice and Human Rights faced the challenge of managing and securing the complex, large-scale IT infrastructure behind two critical national projects: a new ID card system for its 25 million citizens and the complete computerization of criminal records. This required a highly reliable, 24/7 private cloud datacenter to support nearly 1,000 workstations and 900 servers dispersed across the vast country, replacing a previous VMware solution.
Microsoft, through its partner DGM Sistemas, implemented a solution using Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 and the Azure platform. This provided the Ministry with centralized management, automated operations, and aggressive patch and antivirus deployment. The results included significant daily budget savings, the ability to deliver ID cards to citizens across the nation on time, and proactive IT issue resolution. Microsoft's technology enabled the successful issuance of three million criminal record certificates and ensured reliable, secure service delivery.
