A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
ClearBank, a new UK clearing bank, sought to overcome the substantial barriers to entry and legacy technology constraints of the established banking market. To achieve this, they partnered with Microsoft and built their entire infrastructure on the Microsoft Cloud, specifically utilizing Azure, to create a modern, open-access platform for payment and banking services.
By leveraging Microsoft's cloud services, including Azure's compute, storage, and analytics, ClearBank built a robust, cost-effective banking infrastructure in a fraction of the traditional time. The solution from Microsoft enabled ClearBank to launch the UK's first new clearing bank in over 250 years, which is projected to save the UK economy between £2bn and £3bn in annual transactional banking costs while driving greater competition and choice in the market.
