A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Provinzial Rheinland Case Study

Microservices from the Cloud as a Strategic Investment in Agility

Provinzial Rheinland, one of Germany’s leading insurance companies, wanted to launch a new mobile-first customer portal through its direct insurance subsidiary, S-Direkt, but needed an IT platform that could support rapid development, flexible scaling, and strong data protection. The company chose Microsoft Corporation and its cloud services, including Azure Service Fabric and Microsoft Cloud Germany, to meet these requirements.

Microsoft Corporation implemented a microservices-based solution on Azure Service Fabric, enabling scalable, resilient development and faster time to market. The portal can now handle traffic from small tests to major campaign spikes, while customer data is stored in compliance with German regulatory requirements. The project also created a secure foundation for future innovations like chatbots and other digital services.
