A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Mesh Systems, a U.S.-based IoT software and services provider, needed to move beyond a monolithic lighting-control application that had reached its expansion limit. Working with Microsoft Corporation and Azure services such as Azure Service Fabric, Event Hubs, SQL Database, Storage, and ARM templates, the company sought a more scalable and flexible platform for its NetLink solution.
Microsoft Corporation helped Mesh Systems rebuild the system as a microservices-based architecture on Azure Service Fabric, separating ingestion, processing, device state, and diagnostics into independently deployable services. The new solution improved scalability, reliability, and DevOps agility, reduced compute costs by using only five cluster nodes instead of a more resource-heavy traditional setup, and enabled faster customer deployments—often in weeks rather than months—with an estimated ROI of less than 18 months for NetLink.
