SAXA, a Japanese manufacturer of information communication equipment, sought to improve energy conservation and create a new customer service. Their challenge was to develop a solution that could visualize energy usage data to identify waste and reduce costs, a top priority in resource-limited Japan. They worked with Microsoft Corporation to leverage cloud and IoT technologies.

Partnering with Microsoft, SAXA implemented a solution using Microsoft Azure for cloud infrastructure and Microsoft Visio Pro for Office 365 for data visualization. This system gathered sensor data on electricity, temperature, and humidity and displayed it on interactive Visio floor plans. The result was significant energy savings for SAXA and its customers, enabled by real-time monitoring and more accurate planning for capital expenditures on energy-efficient equipment.
