Leading Romanian bank turns to Microsoft AI for better customer care

Banca Transilvania, Romania’s largest bank, faced challenges with inefficient document classification and the need to prepare for GDPR while protecting the personal and business data of 3 million customers. Its existing on-premises approach could not keep up with the volume of files and was slowing down data loss prevention and compliance processes, so the bank turned to Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Azure Information Protection.

With help from Microsoft Corporation and partner Net Brinel, Banca Transilvania implemented Microsoft Azure Information Protection to better classify and protect documents and emails. The solution improved information access, simplified administration, increased security, and helped the bank achieve GDPR compliance faster; it also freed up 41 work-days in the Risk and Security department, giving staff more time for higher-value work.
