Case Study: London Business School strengthens partner collaboration and security with Microsoft Azure Active Directory

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the London Business School Case Study

Leading business school strengthens partnerships with identity and access management service

London Business School, a leading higher education institution, faced challenges managing a rapidly changing community of students, alumni, and external partners. Its legacy identity system made it difficult to support secure access across B2C, B2E, and B2B scenarios, while password resets, account provisioning, and partner onboarding created heavy IT overhead. The school turned to Microsoft Corporation and Azure Active Directory to simplify identity and access management for its growing partner ecosystem.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure Active Directory, including B2B collaboration, self-service password reset, Identity Protection, and cloud app access. The results were significant: partner onboarding time dropped from months to days, account provisioning or suspension was reduced from two days to five seconds via graph APIs, and Azure AD B2B now supports 45,000 users with growth projected to 100,000 over the next decade. The solution also improved security, enabled single sign-on, and strengthened partner relationships and revenue opportunities.
