Case Study: ExakTime achieves agile cloud-based labor management with Microsoft Azure from Microsoft Corporation

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the ExakTime Case Study

Labor management breaks free of on-premises constraints with cloud technology

ExakTime, a mobile workforce management company serving construction, field service, landscaping, transportation, event management, oil and gas, and mining customers, needed a way to scale beyond its on-premises software model and give users access from anywhere. After years of double-digit growth, the company turned to Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Azure, along with services such as Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Lake Analytics, to support a more flexible, cloud-based product.

Microsoft Corporation helped ExakTime migrate to Azure and re-architect its service as SaaS, using features like elastic pools, Azure Blob storage, and Application Insights to speed deployments, simplify customer migration, and improve monitoring. The results included faster upgrades, higher customer adoption, and doubled development velocity over the last year and a half; ExakTime also tracks more than 5.6 million time records per month, with 53% including face-front photos and 81% GPS data, while moving remaining customers to the cloud on an expedited timeline.
