Kuwait’s public university turns to Microsoft 365 for more efficient communication

Kuwait University, Kuwait’s public university, was struggling with an outdated proprietary email system that students and staff disliked for its limited features and insecure, inefficient use. As a result, many people relied on free personal email services instead of the university’s official platform. Kuwait University turned to Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft 365 to improve communication and support more relevant digital skills.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Microsoft 365 in a phased rollout with internal communications and on-site training, and connected key systems like the Student Information System, Human Capital System, and Distance Learning System to Outlook. The results were strong: regular web users grew from 60 to over 500, mobile web users from 160 to over 800, emails sent rose from 315 to 1,600, and received emails increased from 12,400 to 42,400. Microsoft OneDrive usage also doubled from 3 to 6 terabytes in six months, and Office 365 became the university’s official communication channel.
