Kuveyt Türk drives technology innovation in Turkish banking, boosts service performance by 50 percent

Kuveyt Turk, Turkey’s largest Islamic bank and a core banking technology provider for other banks, faced performance issues and an aging infrastructure as support for its SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 environment neared its end. To keep its BOA platform stable and ready for future growth, the bank turned to Microsoft Corporation and its SQL Server 2017 and Windows Server solutions.

Microsoft Corporation helped Kuveyt Turk complete a smooth upgrade to SQL Server 2017 and Windows Server 2016, along with newer hardware, with no downtime or user disruption. The result was always-on availability, a 50 percent improvement in server response times, database failover in under five seconds, shorter end-of-day processing, and about a 25 percent reduction in transaction response times, including a 30 percent performance gain on the first day after migration.
