Kennametal Inc., a global manufacturing company with more than 11,000 employees, needed a way to reduce telephony costs while improving communication across its worldwide teams. The company was already using Microsoft Office 365 and Skype for Business for messaging and conferencing, and wanted a simpler, more cost-effective alternative to traditional conferencing and long-distance calling.

Microsoft Corporation helped Kennametal expand its use of Skype for Business by implementing PSTN Conferencing, consolidating vendors and making user setup faster through the Office 365 portal. The change delivered more than $750,000 in annual savings, not including reduced international call charges, and improved productivity and adoption among about 1,100 users with easier management and training.
