Keeping the Power on When You Need It Most

Cummins Power Generation, a business group of the global power company Cummins, sought to enhance the remote monitoring of its generators to prevent downtime, especially during critical events like natural disasters. To provide real-time visibility for its dealers and customers, Cummins turned to Microsoft and its Azure IoT Suite to build a custom cloud-based solution.

The solution, PowerCommand Cloud, was built on Microsoft Azure and leveraged services like Azure Stream Analytics to collect and analyze performance data from generators in real time. This provided technicians and homeowners with proactive alerts and remote system visibility via a web interface. Microsoft's technology enabled Cummins to reduce service trips, improve customer uptime, and gain valuable data to fuel future product innovation.
