Kansas City’s oldest school uses new technology to energize education

St. Teresa’s Academy, Kansas City’s oldest school, wanted to strengthen technology education and better prepare students for future careers. Its previous devices did not work well across the curriculum, so the school looked for a more flexible solution. Microsoft Corporation’s Surface Pro 4 and OneNote 2016 were introduced as part of a one-to-one program to give every student a device they could use throughout their time at the school.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Surface Pro 4 for students and Surface Studio for desktop learning, with OneNote 2016 supporting note-taking, file sharing, and faster teacher feedback. The result was a more organized, collaborative classroom experience that worked from math and science to journalism and design. Teachers reported being able to challenge students at a higher level, IT management became simpler, and adoption was “almost instantaneous,” with the new tools enabling classes to reach a whole new level.
