Japanese financial technology company speeds app development, expands market using cloud platform

Crowd Cast, a Tokyo-based financial technology company, wanted to expand its cloud expense management service, Staple, and needed faster development plus greater scalability to meet rising enterprise demand. To support that growth, Crowd Cast turned to Microsoft Corporation and its Azure cloud platform, including services such as Azure App Service, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Azure Active Directory.

Microsoft Corporation helped Crowd Cast migrate its Ruby on Rails environment using Docker containers, enabling a move to a more scalable microservices architecture without code conversion. The results included about 50% less labor for staging-to-production moves, 20% faster deployment, improved scalability with Azure Autoscale, and a more efficient foundation for expanding Staple to new customers and channels.
