Jamia Co-Operative Bank - Customer Case Study

Jamia Co-operative Bank, along with 15 other cooperative banks in India, faced challenges with its outdated, ledger-based banking and a rudimentary Total Branch Automation system. This legacy infrastructure resulted in reduced operational efficiency, increasing costs, and difficulties in meeting complex compliance mandates from the Reserve Bank of India. Seeking a modern core banking solution, the bank partnered with Microsoft and its partner, NIIT Technologies, to implement the BankingEasy platform.

The solution involved migrating the BankingEasy core banking system to the Microsoft Azure cloud. This provided the banks with a secure, scalable, and compliant platform that offered high availability and disaster recovery. As a result, Jamia Co-operative Bank became the first urban co-operative bank in India to have its core banking on the cloud. The Microsoft Azure solution enabled the banks to improve efficiency, offer enhanced digital services comparable to large banks, and ensure strict regulatory compliance with zero data loss and a high uptime SLA.
