Ampelmann, a Netherlands-based provider of motion compensated gangway systems, needed a safer and more reliable way to transport offshore workers while improving uptime and maintenance for its “Walk to Work” operations. To address this challenge, Ampelmann used Microsoft Corporation’s Azure cloud services through OrangeNXT’s conNXT IoT platform to connect offshore equipment and capture critical operational data.

Microsoft Corporation’s Azure-based solution enabled more than 400 parameters to be monitored locally and sent securely to the cloud, giving onshore engineers real-time insight and remote support capabilities. The result was a faster 20-day deployment, stronger compliance and scalability, and a shift from preventive to predictive maintenance—helping Ampelmann improve efficiency, increase system uptime, and enhance worker safety.
