A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), a university with over 35,000 students, faced a challenge in its computer science program. Existing methods for teaching Artificial Intelligence lacked integrated tools, forcing students to use multiple, disjointed programs and struggle with complex code. This hindered their ability to grasp important concepts and apply AI fundamentals, putting their future employability at risk.
Microsoft implemented its Azure Machine Learning service, part of the Cortana Intelligence Suite, to provide a streamlined, cloud-based platform. The solution allowed students to visualize and perform entire experiments easily. As a result, student comprehension and enrollment in the advanced Machine Learning module increased significantly. Students were able to complete complex projects and secure internships based on their new skills, and Microsoft's tool helped IIUM expand its curriculum with no reported downtime.
