Case Study: Infosys achieves real-time analytics and reporting with Microsoft Corporation's SQL Server 2016

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Infosys Case Study

Infosys migrates from SQL Server 2012 to SQL 2016

Infosys, a global IT services and consulting company, needed a way to deliver real-time analytics and reporting without slowing its core OLTP systems. Using Microsoft Corporation’s SQL Server 2012, its data warehouse refreshes and ETL processes created a one-day lag, making dashboards and reports too stale for fast business decisions.

Microsoft Corporation helped Infosys migrate to SQL Server 2016, using Distributed AlwaysOn and later planned in-memory and columnstore features to enable real-time data availability and analytics. The implementation cut data synchronization time from one day to 1–2 seconds, eliminated many ETL steps, and created the largest SQL Server 2016 cluster in India and the first Distributed Availability Group in APAC.
