Indian police force scales to protect 220 million citizens with call center and dispatch solution

The Uttar Pradesh Police, a force serving 220 million citizens, faced the challenge of operating a decentralized and inefficient emergency response system across its 75 districts, leading to slow and unreliable assistance. To modernize and centralize its operations, the organization partnered with Microsoft Corporation and adopted an end-to-end portfolio of Microsoft solutions including Windows Server, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Dynamics CRM.

By implementing a new statewide contact center and dispatch system called UP 100 powered by Microsoft Corporation's technology, the police force dramatically improved its responsiveness. The solution enabled them to increase event dispatches from 3,700 to 17,000 per day and achieve response times as fast as 22 minutes in remote areas. This resulted in a significant reduction in crime, the prevention of nearly two suicides per day, and an 82% citizen satisfaction rate, renewing public trust in the emergency force.
