Independent realtor discovers that the best place to move is to the cloud

Weichert Realtors, the largest independent realty brokerage in the United States, faced challenges with expensive and difficult-to-maintain on-premises solutions. They needed to increase the scalability of their website and provide a robust search solution for their CRM system to compete effectively. This led them to partner with Microsoft Corporation and begin a full migration to the Microsoft Azure platform.

The solution implemented by Microsoft involved using a suite of Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Table Storage, and Azure Search. This new architecture separated data types for efficiency, moving highly-searched data to SQL databases and other data to cost-effective NoSQL storage. The results for the customer were significant, including a 60 percent reduction in website operating costs, unprecedented scalability, and the implementation of their first true disaster recovery solution, enabling them to operate more effectively.
