On-premises infrastructure made calculations slow and expensive, limiting the size of customer schemes the company could support. Microsoft Corporation’s Azure platform, including Azure Batch, was used to help solve this challenge.

Microsoft Corporation helped Hymans Robertson move the calculation engine into a hybrid-cloud model on Azure, using Azure Batch, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual Machines, and Application Insights to automate and scale compute workloads. The results were significant: a 2,500-member scheme dropped from a weekend to 90 minutes, staff spent more time on billable work, and Hymans Robertson avoided an estimated £100,000 in annual infrastructure costs while gaining the capacity to expand into new markets.
