How Wellington College transformed its learning environment with Microsoft Surface and Autopilot

Wellington College, a long-established school with a tradition of innovation, faced an outdated, inflexible classroom and device environment that made collaboration harder and IT support more time-consuming. Working with Microsoft Corporation and using Microsoft Surface alongside cloud tools like OneNote, Azure AD, Intune, and Autopilot, the college sought a more standardized, student-friendly way to teach and manage devices.

Microsoft Corporation helped Wellington College implement a fully managed Surface rollout with automated provisioning and cloud-based device management. Setup time fell from about an hour to 18 minutes with Intune and then to just six or seven minutes with Autopilot, while support requests dropped, hardware costs were reduced through cloud use, and teachers and students gained a more collaborative, mobile, and secure learning experience.
