How the State of Georgia is Putting an End to Gang Violence with the Cloud

The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia faced a major challenge coordinating gang-related investigations across more than 400 law enforcement agencies, where siloed communication, lost paper files, and inconsistent reporting made it difficult to build strong cases. Microsoft Corporation worked with the state alongside Formulytics, using Azure Cloud Services and Azure Storage to help prosecutors and investigators better organize and share gang intelligence.

Microsoft Corporation’s cloud-based solution digitized case files, standardized investigation workflows, and connected agencies across jurisdictional boundaries. As a result, Georgia created more than 25,000 investigative profiles, identified tens of thousands of connections, improved the quality of evidence presented in court, and helped prosecutors try and win more cases against violent street gangs.
