Krankenhaus Weilheim-Schongau, a small German hospital system in Bavaria, was hit by the GandCrab 5.3 ransomware after an employee opened a malicious email attachment. The hospital resumed operations in manual mode with no lost data or damage, and later expanded its security posture by keeping Microsoft Defender ATP on critical systems and planning to add Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection and Azure Advanced Threat Protection.
