Higher Education Commission helps universities accelerate research through the power of Azure

Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan partnered with Microsoft Corporation to help universities and research centers modernize their digital infrastructure. Through Microsoft Azure, Azure Cloud Services, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual Machines, and Azure Media Services, HEC supported institutions facing challenges with limited compute power, storage, and data management for research and video learning content.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure-based solutions that let researchers run analyses simultaneously and gave HEC’s learning platforms scalable storage and streaming capabilities. At ICCBS, Microsoft Genomics eliminated wait times for DNA data analysis and improved productivity, while the LEJ center now manages more than 2 terabytes of video lectures with a better user experience, showing clear gains in scalability and efficiency.
