A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
The Kuwait Ministry of Finance faced a significant challenge with an outdated paper-based system, which caused delays in processing millions of critical documents annually and hindered collaboration among its 3,000+ employees. To increase efficiency and mobility, the ministry partnered with Microsoft Corporation to implement a digital solution based on Microsoft technologies, including a custom SharePoint Server 2013 application and Office 365 services.
Microsoft implemented a secure, hybrid infrastructure that digitized correspondence and enabled digital signatures, integrated with the public key infrastructure for authentication. This solution drastically reduced document approval times from days to minutes and generated annual printing cost savings of over $744,000. The Kuwait Ministry of Finance also achieved greater mobility for its officials and streamlined collaboration across departments, making it the first government agency in the country to successfully adopt such a system.
