Global chemical company creates collaborative reaction with OneDrive

Ecolab, the global chemical company focused on sustainability, needed a more secure and efficient way for employees around the world to share large files and collaborate across locations. To solve its collaboration headaches and better integrate with its Microsoft environment, Ecolab chose Microsoft Corporation’s OneDrive for Business after previously relying on Dropbox and facing challenges with version control, remote access, and secure external sharing.

Microsoft Corporation implemented OneDrive and completed the migration of more than 135 terabytes of data ahead of schedule with no interruption to business services. The shift improved collaboration and security, enabled delta sync and Files On-Demand for easier access, and drove rapid adoption as usage grew from 135 TB to over 400 TB in six months. Ecolab also reduced backup-tool needs and strengthened governance for safer sharing through Microsoft’s integrated controls.
