A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
SPIEGEL-Verlag, the German publisher behind the SPIEGEL group, wanted to modernize its “Workplace of the Future” and replace IBM Notes with a more flexible, mobile collaboration environment that matched employees’ expectations for workplace tools. The company chose Microsoft Corporation’s Office 365 and related services to better support communication, collaboration, and data protection across different employee groups.
Microsoft Corporation, working with partner Net at Work, helped migrate SPIEGEL-Verlag to Exchange Online and roll out Office 365 features such as OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business Online, Yammer, and Enterprise Mobility + Security with Azure Active Directory Premium. The project improved flexibility, enabled single sign-on and stronger security, and allowed employees to work across devices and locations; IBM Notes was retired by December 2015, and the company reported a smoother rollout thanks to expert guidance and early pilot testing.
