GE Aviation’s Digital Group at GE struggled with aircraft part traceability, relying on paper records that were slow, error-prone, and made it hard to verify a part’s full history for safety and compliance. The customer partnered with Microsoft Corporation and used Microsoft Azure Blockchain technologies, including Azure Blockchain Service and Blockchain Data Manager, to replace cumbersome documentation with a more scalable digital approach.

Microsoft Corporation implemented an automated, real-time tracking solution that connected data cleansing, reporting, and shared visibility through Azure Logic Apps and Microsoft Power BI. The result was faster access to verified part histories, improved efficiency, and lower costs; MTU Maintenance also reported that the collaboration helped release more than $10 million in unsettled cash in revenue-sharing reconciliation.
