Gaming studio learns what players want and delivers quickly with the cloud

Fluffy Fairy Games, a Berlin-based mobile game studio, wanted to become the most player-oriented gaming company in the world and needed a faster way to launch features, respond to player feedback, and add back-end capabilities like leaderboards and cloud saves. Working with Microsoft Corporation, the team used Azure and PlayFab to support its growing hit game, Idle Miner Tycoon, while avoiding the need to build and maintain all of the infrastructure in-house.

Microsoft Corporation helped Fluffy Fairy Games implement a cloud-based back-end and analytics stack using PlayFab, Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake services, and Power BI. The solution enabled the studio to process 1 billion events per month, run A/B tests, and ship improvements at a faster pace, while also avoiding the cost of hiring 5 to 10 back-end engineers and scaling easily during peak usage.
