A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
FunRock, a fast-growing Swedish mobile strategy game developer, needed a backend that could handle massive concurrency as its MMO title Heroes United grew. To meet that challenge, FunRock worked with Microsoft Corporation and moved its game backend to Azure and Microsoft Azure Service Fabric, using services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Active Directory, and Azure App Service.
Microsoft Corporation helped FunRock implement a microservices and actor-based architecture on Service Fabric, with automated scaling, reliable service discovery, secure communication, and integrated logging and backups. The result was a highly scalable platform that supports hundreds of thousands of concurrent players, processes nearly four million logs per day, and lets the team scale per service while improving reliability and speeding development.
