WMF Group, the world’s technological market leader in fully automatic coffee machines for hotels and restaurants, wanted to digitize its business in a way that would create real value for customers. The company needed a central platform to connect its machines, collect operational data, and turn that information into better sales, service, and maintenance decisions. Microsoft Corporation, using Azure IoT solution accelerators, Azure SQL Database, Cortana Intelligence Suite, and Power BI, was selected to help build the foundation.
Microsoft Corporation and partner Oraylis GmbH implemented a Microsoft Azure-based digital platform for WMF CoffeeConnect and Schaerer Coffee Link, enabling bidirectional machine connectivity and a data warehouse for machine data, service records, and manuals. The solution gives technicians, sales teams, and customers role-based dashboards, supports predictive maintenance, and enables targeted promotions and recipe changes. WMF Group plans to connect more than 140,000 machines, improving service planning and helping customers boost sales and efficiency.
