French startup runs open-source map solution in the cloud to support rapid growth

Mapwize, a French startup behind an indoor mapping platform for smart buildings, needed to simplify and scale a complex monolithic application as demand grew. Using Microsoft Corporation’s Azure platform and Azure App Service, Mapwize sought a cloud-based way to support its web services, API, map delivery, and admin tools while reducing infrastructure management.

Microsoft Corporation helped Mapwize split its system into independent services using Azure App Service, Azure Content Delivery Network, and Azure Functions. The result was lower operating costs, faster global delivery, easier maintenance, and the ability to do more development without adding staff; Mapwize also credited Microsoft Corporation’s BizSpark Plus Program with helping it reach new customers and support continued growth.
