Frame - Customer Case Study

Frame, a professional services company in the United States, helps designers, engineers, and content creators run demanding 3D applications in the cloud from any device using a browser. Its challenge was delivering workstation-class performance without the cost, complexity, and long setup times of traditional high-end workstations or VDI infrastructure, and it used Microsoft Azure services including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Storage.

Microsoft Corporation helped Frame by providing Azure Virtual Machines N-Series with NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, enabling faster cloud graphics performance and broader global delivery. Frame also used Azure Files and Azure Resource Manager APIs to simplify management. The results were strong: Azure NV6 instances delivered about 28% faster performance than comparable AWS GPU VMs, and Frame could provision environments in minutes instead of months, with one ANSYS deployment for 1,000 students set up in just an hour.
