The Drop, a UK suit e-tailer, wanted to make online shopping for made-to-measure clothing as personal as an in-store experience. As the business grew, its team faced the challenge of handling highly varied customer preferences and measurements at scale, and turned to Microsoft Corporation’s Azure and Azure Machine Learning to help automate and personalize the process.

Working with Microsoft Corporation and partner The Pull Agency, The Drop built AI models to flag measurement errors, estimate measurements without a tape measure, and generate 3D customer renders from photos. The results included a more streamlined supply chain, faster production of custom garments, and rapid implementation alongside existing Microsoft systems; since launching, The Drop has sold 2,000 suits to 1,700 customers, with 10% of one-time buyers returning within nine months.
