Finnish group builds electric vehicle charging station with IoT solution

AJR Solutions, a Finland-based IT company, faced the challenge of helping scale electric vehicle charging infrastructure to meet rapidly growing demand. Working with Microsoft Corporation’s Azure and Azure IoT Hub, AJR partnered on the eChargie project, an IoT device designed to turn public or semi-public power sockets into EV charging points.

Microsoft Corporation’s Azure-based solution connected eChargie devices to a cloud backend, mobile app, and management portal, making the system easy to deploy, manage, and secure for GDPR compliance. The result was a simple, low-cost charging platform that lets owners set pricing and power output while enabling drivers to pay directly for electricity, creating new revenue opportunities and supporting greener transport.
