Finning uses cloud-based workforce to improve employee engagement and onboarding, reduce costs

Finning International Inc., one of the world’s largest dealers of Caterpillar heavy equipment, wanted to streamline HR processes, improve onboarding and deprovisioning, and reduce IT complexity while keeping its existing Workday HCM system. To support this digital transformation, Finning chose Microsoft Corporation’s Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and its Workday connector to enable single sign-on and centralized identity management.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure AD inbound provisioning with Workday integration to automate employee onboarding, updates, and deactivation across systems. The result was simpler IT architecture, less reliance on custom and third-party tools, faster and more secure account management, and time and cost savings; Finning also reported plans to expand the solution globally, with phase two starting in South America and then the UK.
