The United States Air Force needed to replace its costly, hardware-based Emergency Mass Notification System with a modern, cloud-based platform that could meet strict Department of Defense security requirements. Microsoft Corporation, working with partner F5 and Azure, was brought in to help support the migration of this mission-critical alerting system.

Microsoft Corporation and F5 implemented a certified Azure-based solution using the Secure Azure Computing Architecture, helping accelerate accreditation and deployment while preserving compliance, security, and scalability. The new system was rolled out to every USAF base worldwide in one year, cutting the original timeline in half and enabling fast alerts via email, push notifications, voice calls, and text across desktop and mobile devices.
