ESCP Europe calls on Microsoft Azure to train its students in code

ESCP Europe, an international business school, needed to provide 600 students across its campuses with a Java development environment without having them install heavy software on their personal computers. Their challenge was to make this environment accessible from anywhere in the world on any device. To address this, they turned to vendor Microsoft Corporation and its Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

The solution implemented by Microsoft, via partner Exaduo, was to provision individual virtual machines on Azure, each pre-installed with the Android Studio IDE. This gave every student a personal, cloud-based workspace that could be accessed instantly from a PC, Mac, or tablet. The results were highly successful; virtual machines were ready for use in under three minutes, even during peak usage, and students could seamlessly access their work from anywhere. The project overcame previous technical issues and was deemed a long-term success by the school.
