Escola Bosque students use AI to tackle real-world problems like bullying and environmental sustainability

Escola Bosque, a K-12 school in São Paulo, Brazil, wanted to use technology to help students solve real-world problems while improving learning across the classroom. Working with Microsoft Corporation and partner Big Brain, the school adopted Microsoft Education tools including Azure Cognitive Services, Language Understanding Intelligent Service (LUIS), Microsoft Teams, and Minecraft: Education Edition.

Microsoft Corporation helped implement an AI chatbot, “Uncle Bot,” to support students with bullying-related questions, and students used Minecraft and other Microsoft tools to design an environmental sustainability project. The results included stronger awareness and collaboration, a reported significant reduction in bullying issues, and a cistern project capable of capturing 530 liters of water for school maintenance.
