EPLAN opts for global rollout of its data portal in the Azure cloud

EPLAN Software & Service GmbH & Co. KG needed a highly scalable, globally available platform to support the international growth of its EPLAN Data Portal, which had reached the limits of its Germany-hosted infrastructure. The company chose Microsoft Corporation Azure, working with partner Noxum GmbH to modernize the portal while continuing to use its existing PHP-based business logic.

Microsoft Corporation and Noxum migrated the portal to Azure, moving the application to IaaS, shifting data from MySQL to Azure SQL, replacing Apache with IIS, and using Azure Blob storage for scalable document delivery. The result was faster rollout, centralized administration, and worldwide delivery from multiple data centers, with Azure Content Delivery Network further supporting global performance and high availability.
