Eni quickly delivers business applications using Azure Kubernetes Service

Eni SpA, the Italian energy company, needed a faster way to onboard projects and deploy internal business applications while still meeting enterprise ITIL and security requirements. To support its digital transformation, Eni adopted Kubernetes and then extended its hybrid platform to the cloud with Microsoft Corporation’s Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), along with services such as Azure Active Directory, Azure Key Vault, Azure Load Balancer, and Azure Storage.

Microsoft Corporation helped Eni build an infrastructure-as-code platform using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and AKS, enabling rapid provisioning, secure hybrid connectivity, and automated workload migration. The new environment was delivered in just three months, supported 10+ business applications, 100+ developers, and 300+ containers, and allowed application moves from on-premises to Azure in minutes while reducing operations and improving agility and scalability.
