A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
George Washington University faced complex identity and access management challenges due to its large, diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and external constituents. The university required a solution to securely manage digital access for these different groups while also enhancing physical campus security. They turned to Microsoft and its Azure Active Directory service to address these needs.
Microsoft's solution, built on Azure AD, provided a cloud-based identity management platform. This enabled the university to implement campus-wide multifactor authentication, streamline single sign-on for hundreds of applications, and create dynamic access policies. The results were significant, with a full deployment achieved in just three months with fewer than 150 help-desk tickets. Microsoft's tools also allowed GW to begin integrating digital and physical security, paving the way for a more secure modern campus environment.
