YES Prep Public Schools needed a secure way to give 30,000–40,000 parents and guardians easier access to student records while meeting FERPA requirements across multiple siloed systems. Working with Microsoft Corporation and partner Oxford Computer Group, the K-12 charter school network chose Microsoft Azure Active Directory B2C for identity and access management in a new parent portal.

Microsoft Corporation helped YES Prep implement the portal in just four months, enabling sign-in with social accounts or personal emails, multilingual support, and secure matching to student records. The result was better parent engagement, self-service account management, and no increase in IT headcount, while also lowering compliance and development costs and improving communication in 16 languages.
